In 1961, Adhesives Research, Inc., was founded to supply specialty adhesive-coated materials not found anywhere else. Early projects concentrated on the graphic arts field and also included designing and building adhesive coating equipment.  From its humble beginnings in a converted garage, Adhesives Research (AR) grew steadily and pioneered work in high-performance, pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes. The company changed locations twice to accommodate its growing business – first in 1965 and then in 1974, when it moved to its present location in Glen Rock, PA.

The custom PSA tapes manufactured are used around the world in medical diagnostics and devices, wound care, pharmaceuticals/transdermals, cosmetics and personal care products, as well as in the electronics, display, automotive and pulp and paper industries.  

Adhesives Research, Inc., also operates manufacturing facilities in Ireland and Colombia, has sales and marketing offices in Great Britain and Singapore, a representative office in China and sales representation in Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
