Repulpable Tapes NEW
Fully biodegradable, recyclable tapes engineered for efficient, contamination-free splicing in paper and pulp production.

Reliable splicing for sustainable paper manufacturing
At Adhesives Research, we engineer adhesive technologies that combine operational reliability with environmental responsibility. ARclad® Repulpable Splicing Tapes are designed specifically for the paper and pulp industry, delivering strong, stable adhesion during production while allowing full fiber recovery during repulping. These tapes maintain splice integrity under demanding coating, laminating, and converting conditions—supporting continuous production and eliminating adhesive contamination in the recycling process.
By integrating sustainability into performance design, our repulpable tapes help mills and converters reduce downtime, minimize waste, and improve overall process efficiency—all while supporting circular manufacturing goals.

Product Overview
ARclad® Repulpable Splicing Tapes are constructed with water-dispersible adhesive systems and paper-based backings that completely break down during the pulping process. This design ensures that both backing and adhesive disperse into the slurry without affecting fiber recovery or paper quality.
Our product range includes single-faced and double-faced configurations to support various splice types—from zero-speed and flying splices to butt and manual overlap applications. The adhesive systems provide consistent tack and peel strength across coated, uncoated, and specialty paper grades. They also maintain bond stability over a wide range of web temperatures and humidity levels, ensuring splice reliability from unwind to reel-up.
To enhance operational efficiency, ARclad® repulpable tapes are offered in longer 72-yard roll lengths to reduce changeovers and material waste. Each tape delivers predictable unwind behavior and even surface profiles, passing smoothly through rollers and dryers without lifting or tearing.
Custom Support Built Around Your Process
Every paper mill operates under unique production parameters—line speed, humidity, temperature, and substrate mix. We collaborate directly with your process engineers and operators to identify the most effective ARclad® repulpable tape for your operation. Through lab evaluations and pilot line trials, we validate splice strength, heat resistance, and dissolution behavior to ensure full compatibility with your repulping systems.
When standard options require fine-tuning, our formulation and process teams can modify adhesive chemistry or backing thickness to balance tack, shear strength, and ease of removal. Our regional technical support centers in the U.S., Ireland, and the U.K. provide localized assistance for implementation, splice training, and ongoing optimization to maintain reliable performance across all production sites.
Implementation and Technical Guidance
For optimal performance, apply ARclad® repulpable tapes to clean, dry surfaces with firm, even pressure to ensure complete adhesive contact. Store rolls at approximately 70°F in a cool, dry environment to preserve tack and bond strength. Our technical specialists can assist with product selection, trial planning, and line validation to confirm adhesion, dissolution, and process compatibility under real production conditions.
